Rubber Clear

The KROM RUBBER clear is our secondary coating for tamas, it has a matte/rubbery feel and provides friction between the ken and tama, but in a different way than the LOL® clear coat. Generally often used for products in a lower price range or if we feel a certain product or project calls for it.

Although this is generally true for all kendamas and tama coats, the rubber clear specifically benefits from being “broken in”, meaning the process of playing the kendama, essentially damaging it, and creating tiny dents all over the tama as you miss a spike here or a cup there. This process will allow the rubber coating to reach its full potential of grippiness as the slight unevenness of a “broken in” tama and ken combo will elevate the ease of which you’ll be landing your tricks.
